UNDATED, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As of 12:45 p.m., the Consumers Energy Restoration Team is tracking severe wind gusts across portions of Michigan beginning late Wednesday through Thursday morning.
Officials say the forecasts show hazardous winds could impact the area along the Lake Michigan lakeshore from Northwest Michigan down to the southern border.
Some wind gusts could exceed 65 mph and result in power outages, downed wires, broken poles and other safety hazards.
“Consumers Energy has been monitoring this developing storm system for several days and is ready to respond,” officials said in a statement. “Restoration from last weekend’s storms was completed Monday afternoon. Personnel are getting sufficient rest while we are restocking our mobile storm units and essential materials. The Company is making other preparations to quickly respond to any service interruptions.”
