BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – U.S. Senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will be in Battle Creek Friday to attend a rally with striking Kellogg’s workers.
More than 1,300 workers at the company have been on strike for 10 weeks, with their union asking for better working conditions and an end a two-tier pay system.
Workers last week turned down a contract offer from the company. The company has hired permanent replacement workers and threatened to move 275 jobs to Mexico.
The rally is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Battle Creek Farmers Market at Festival Market Square, 25 McCamly Street, Battle Creek.
