LANSING, MI — Lansing Police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old female found inside a crashed vehicle last week on the city’s south side.
Seventeen-year-old Lemmie Edward Jones of Lansing was arraigned this afternoon in 54-A District court and charged with homicide, multiple assault with intent to murder and felony firearms charges.
Lansing Police allege Jones shot into a SUV carrying Arianna Christina Delacruz on Lansing and three other passengers, including a small infant. Delacruz was pronounced dead at the scene while all three passengers suffered gunshot wounds and were hospitalized. The shooting happened last Friday morning around 4:15 a.m. near the corner of Cedar Street and Miller Road in south Lansing.
