KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo’s popular Farmers’ Market has just undergone a major facelift, with more parking, more space for vendors, better access both from Bank Street and the city’s pedestrian trails, and they aren’t finished yet.
The money for the new improvements won’t be coming from the city budget.
Thanks to a one million dollar grant from the Gilmore Foundation and other sources, city officials say there are now plans to build an indoor facility so the Farmers’ Market can be open year round, and offer more programs and opportunities. That work is already underway.
