KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE: The suspect accused of robbing two banks in Kalamazoo last October has been charged, according to an update from WOOD TV Monday.
WOOD TV reports that the suspect is identified as Matthew Main, who is said to have confessed to the robberies while in an Indiana jail last month.
The first robbery happened at 10:20 a.m. October 27. Main is said to have walked into Chase Bank at 141 East Michigan Ave. in downtown Kalamazoo and told the clerk he had a gun.
The second robbery happened at 4:13 p.m. October 29 at the Community Promise Credit Union at 1313 Portage Street, where Main is said to have told the clerk he had bombs.
In both incidents, Main is said to have made off with cash.
His next trial date was not immediately clear.
