LANSING, MI — A press conference this morning in Lansing with city officials and law enforcement is expected to discuss the recent spate of gun violence in the local community.
The press conference will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at Lansing’s City Hall lobby on West Michigan Avenue, according to a press release.
Community law enforcement, Mayor Andy Schor, and Chief Ellery Sosebee will be joined by other local authorities, including Lansing school officials, to address gun violence at the news conference.
In the most recent incident, a 17-year-old Lansing teen was shot and killed on the city’s southside Friday morning. Police say Arianna Christina Delacruz was riding in a vehicle when unknown persons shot into the vehicle Delacruz was riding in. Three others in the vehicle were injured, including a month’s old baby.
