CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert said his office is considering filing criminal charges for recent threats made against schools.
Schools across Michigan have been inundated with threats following the deadly shooting at Oxford High School on November 30.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said that students from Homer High School were sent home on Thursday, December 9, because a student had written bomb threats on the walls of two bathrooms.
Authorities say the 14-year-old student told deputies that he made the threat because of a dare.
So far, no recent threats to southwest Michigan schools have led to charges.
In Kalamazoo County, law enforcement officials said they’ve dealt with a school threat every day this last week.
