EAST LANSING, MI — After years of rumors, Meridian Township officials have confirmed to several media outlets in Lansing that the zoning board there has approved a variance to allow the Trader Joe’s to move ahead with development plans for a location in East Lansing.
The grocery store chain is now expected to submit building plans as the next step moving forward as it seeks township approval.
The proposed Trader Joe’s would be located in an already congested area along Grand River Ave., across from the street from the Whole Foods Market.
