KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Board has hired an executive headhunting firm that is familiar with the area as they seek a new Administrator.
The board chose Chicago-based GovHR USA, mainly because they got good references from officials in Kent County and Portage, both of which recently hired the firm for the same task.
Commissioner Jeff Heppler made the motion, selecting GovHR USA over a second choice.
“I’m sure they’d both do a good job, but I really feel the first one would service best, they have a little more local and a little more Michigan,” Heppler said.
The second candidate, Management Partners, is much larger with more resources and connections, but has worked mostly on the East and West coasts.
The firm will recruit applicants, screen out those who don’t meet County specifications, and help with interviews.
If all goes as planned, they could have a new Administrator hired in three months.
