HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Michigan State Police officials are inviting people to take part in scenario-based training with members of the 140th Trooper recruit school and their instructors.
These exercises are set for January 10th through 12th at the Fort Custer training center in Battle Creek.
They want to bridge the gap between the people they serve and police officers.
These exercises simulate traffic stops — with residents acting as drivers and passengers.
Volunteers must be 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Participants must agree to getting a criminal background check, submitting to a weapon search on site, and sign a liability waiver.
