BENTONVILLE AK (WKZO AM/FM) – Walmart officials have announced that the location at 501 9th Street in Oshtemo will be closing on Tuesday at 2 pm “as part of a company-initiated program to allow third party cleaning crews time to thoroughly clean and sanitize the building”.
The company’s press release indicated that, in addition to the deep cleaning via a third party, the closure would allow associates and management to restock shelves and insure that once the store re-opens, it can serve its customers the way they should be.
The store is set to open again on Thursday, December 9th, at 6 am.
Walmart officials maintain that masks will be highly recommended to all customers, whether vaccinated or not, in stores where there are high rates of transmission.
All Walmart associates and management will be required to wear masks.
Kalamazoo County has a high rate as of Tuesday, December 7th.
