KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo City Commissioners are set to vote Monday night on an emergency ordinance in connection with the proposal locating of 50 housing pods on city-owned land in the Edison neighborhood.
Residents who live in the area, however, are concerned that city officials have not consulted them about the project, and are expected to make their concerns known at tonight’s session.
The ordinance would require Housing Resources Inc., the builder of the pods, to get input from those residents near where the pods would be, but the city would hold final approval for the project.
Monday’s meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be virtual.
