There are many reasons producers have had a rough couple of years and clearly one of them has been challenges in renewing pesticide applicators licensing.
With everything moving to on-line from the Extension office as part of the ‘new normal,’ things such as computer-based testing through Kalamazoo Community College are coming to the fore. In addition, select-in-person training and testing opportunities will be available across Michigan with several changes from what had been offered earlier. Only Core and Standards categories – not commercial categories will be available. The morning training will be offered through an MSU campus-based IPM specialist rather than county-based educators.
Also, the training will not be optional and you must sign up for it. Finally, accumulating RUP credits for recertification is still a good way to renew your license, and most winter programs will offer them.
