BROOKLYN, MI — The Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn will give people who donate a toy to its 13th annual MIS Cares Charity Track and Toy Drive the chance to take a lap around the two-mile oval.
Toys and non-perishable food items will be collected at the track in Brooklyn on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. However, thrill seekers might be disappointed. Track officials say the lap around the track will be at “highway speed,” not the 200-miles-an-hour the NASCAR cars travel.
The speedway will host a single NASCAR weekend again in 2022, according to the track schedule. The Firekeepers Casino 400 is set for Aug. 7, 2022.
