KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -With Thanksgiving just a week away, Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation workers kicked off the Christmas season by installing the 17-foot tall fiber glass Santa Claus along the Kalamazoo Mall.
The 300-pound Santa that sits at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Kalamazoo Mall has been a holiday staple for over 20 years.
Holiday lights are also being installed along the Kalamazoo Mall.
The city’s Tree Lighting Ceremony in Bronson Park will be held Friday, November 26. Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m., including live music, crafts, hot chocolate, and visits with Santa.
