THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET), along with deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s office, MSP troopers from the Marshall post, and two State Police K-9 teams conducted four hours of high-intensity drug interdiction Wednesday.
The efforts were meant to target illegal activity in City of Three Rivers.
During the four hours of interdiction, uniformed officers conducted eight traffic stops and made contact with 11 people.
During those traffic stops, officers conducted six K-9 searches.
Those searches turned up cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, a 45 cal. semi-automatic handgun stolen out of Portage and 50 rounds of ammunition.
Along with the seized items, uniformed officers made six warrant arrests and generated six additional charges that will be forwarded to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office.
Officers also cited some suspects for suspended driving, no insurance, no vehicle registration and several equipment violations.
