KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It’s been over three months since former Kalamazoo County Administrator Tracee Moored stepped down, and the County Board of Commissioners is just now beginning the search for her replacement.
In fact they haven’t gotten that far yet. They are still looking for a headhunting firm to help them get the search off the ground.
Tuesday night commissioners narrowed the list of search firms down from five to to three, and then to two, after one commissioner found an issue with one of the finalists.
Board Chair Tracy Hall says the two firms, GovHR USA and Management Partners will be interviewed by the full board at the end of the month.
It will be well into next year before candidates for the top administrative post in the county will be interviewed and a finalist selected.
Commissioners say they want to make sure the firm they pick will guarantee their work for at least a year, because it took two tries last time before they finally hired Moored from their own staff.
