CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As of Wednesday, November 10, all K-12 classes at Pennfield Schools in Calhoun County have moved to virtual learning.
Classes will remain virtual until Monday, November 22.
In a Facebook post, officials with the school district say the decision was made due to a staff shortage in transportation.
Drivers Also Needed in Paw Paw
In a related matter, the Paw Paw Public Schools District in Van Buren County announced Saturday that, due to a shortage in bus drivers, some routes needed to be canceled this week.

The district is requesting that individuals apply for bus driver positions.

These are only the latest bus driver shortages reported in Southwest Michigan.
As recently as September, Kalamazoo County has faced shortages of its own, leading to some of its routes being canceled periodically, as well.
