UPDATE (11/10/21) – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the bicyclist who was struck and killed in a crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in Comstock Township.
Charles Lynn Markwell, age 73, was struck and killed by a motor vehicle, which fled the scene after hitting him.
The vehicle, a yellow Dodge Charger, has been recovered and this crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that they have located the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred Sunday afternoon.
Deputies located the yellow Dodge Charger that allegedly struck a bicyclist on Gull Rd at around 5:42 pm.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation.

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County authorities are trying to locate a driver involved in a hit and run crash that killed a bicyclist Sunday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 5000 block of Gull Rd. in Comstock Township at around 5:45 p.m.
When they arrived, they located a bicyclist who was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined a driver had fled the scene eastbound in a vehicle described as a yellow Dodge Charger with a black racing stripe on it. They note that the vehicle likely has some front-end damage.
