KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Police in Kalamazoo say one suspect has been arrested following two bank robberies that took place Monday.
Around 12:45 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of E. Michigan Avenue for a report of two bank robberies that had just occurred.
The 911 callers provided dispatch with a detailed description of the suspect who fled the scenes.
Arriving officers were able to locate the suspect fleeing on a bicycle and took him into custody without incident.
The suspect is described as a 27-year-old Kalamazoo resident. He was arrested for two counts of bank robbery and is awaiting arraignment.
These are only the latest bank robberies to occur in the Kalamazoo area. Last week, police confirmed two bank robberies in late October were still under investigation.
It is currently unknown whether those incidents are connected to the Monday robberies.
