PORTER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County authorities arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that happened early Sunday morning. Sheriff’s deputies responded to an area on Sunset Blvd and Terrie Shore Rd. in Porter Township just after midnight.
When they arrived, they located a 28-year-old man from Union lying on the side of the roadway. He was taken to an Indiana hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. During their investigations, deputies located a vehicle at a residence believed to be involved.
Later, they identified the driver, a 58-year-old man from White Pigeon, who was taken into custody on charges related to the crash. The suspect’s name has not been released pending arraignment. Investigators say drugs or alcohol may have been factors in the accident.
