KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police are searching for a suspected bank robber.
Authorities say a man in his early 20s robbed a bank on Friday, October 29, around 4:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of Portage Street near Stockbridge Avenue.
According to police, the unarmed robber walked in, demanded an undisclosed amount of cash and then ran away. Tracking dogs were used to try to track the suspect down, but the effort was unsuccessful.
Officials said on Friday the 29th that it was too soon to say whether this incident may be linked to the Wednesday, October 27 robbery of a Chase Bank branch in downtown Kalamazoo.
The suspect is described as being in his early 20s, 5 foot 9 inches with a medium build and facial stubble. He was wearing a black hoodie, light-colored tight fitting pants, dark boots, a dark winter hat and a stretchy white gator-style face mask with a blue and black pattern.
