KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Voter turnout is expected to be low in Michigan for the odd-year November election coming up this Tuesday. Voters will be making decisions in Kalamazoo, Portage, Galesburg, and Parchment. A countywide Metro Transit millage renewal is also on the ballot.
Kalamazoo City Clerk Scott Borling says they have distributed about 6,000 absentee ballots this time around, far fewer than last year. He says his office will be holding special hours this Saturday for anyone who wants to vote early.
A majority of the votes on the Kalamazoo City Commission are up for grabs as Mayor Dave Anderson is the only incumbent running and three other seats will be filled by voters Tuesday.
