BATTLE CREEK, MI — Union employees of Kellogg’s remain on strike after holding a rally across the street from the cereal maker’s global headquarters in Battle Creek on Wednesday.
One reason for the strike is continued job losses at the Battle Creek facility, with executives saying 174 positions will be eliminated. Employees in Battle Creek first went on strike two weeks ago.
A union leader told several media outlets the factory has gone from four-thousand workers to 325 employees, while Kellogg’s is adding to it’s 24-hundred employee workforce in Linares, Mexico. The company denies proposing moving any jobs from Battle Creek to Mexico.
