Now that it looks and feels a bit more like autumn we can take talk of Thanksgiving dinner more seriously.
In spite of some just-released government indicators showing an easing of food prices in 2022 a New York Times report says Thanksgiving 2021 could turn out to be the most expensive dinner on record in the holiday’s history. The heads-up from companies like Nestle advises you to be ready for more price increases pre-Thanksgiving. Big family seasonal meal gatherings are back after being held at bay by the pandemic last year. Turkey prices which were held down by lower demand are taking a turn higher this year.
Add to this factor supply chain disruptions and increased transportation costs as well as weather delays in some places – and don’t forget inflation – and we’ll be seeing the final bill for it all growing significantly.
