ORANGEVILLE TWP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan State Police are investigating what they say appears to be human remains found in Barry County.
Authorities report that a resident in Orangeville Township found the remains deep in the woods on his property near South Enzian Road, south of West Guernsey Lake Road, near Barry Community College.
Police responded to the call early Thursday afternoon and investigators are currently in the process of learning more about the identity of the person along with a cause of death.
Troopers also said that a person had been reported missing in that area on September 4th. In an interview with WOOD TV 8, MSP Detective 1st Lt. Chuck Christensen said that one of the first steps in identifying the body will be checking missing persons databases.
