LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan’s Auditor General is reporting that more people have died of COVID-19 in the state than is currently indicated.
Over 21 thousand deaths have been reported thus far, but the AG’s office says that a report requested by State Rep. Steven Johnson, R-Wayland, who wanted the state to look into deaths at long-term care facilities, shows that there have been 822 deaths that were not accounted for, but the updated death total is not attributed to long term care facilities.
The state Dept. of Health and Human Services stated that 45 percent of the 822 deaths occurred outside the state, and could account for the discrepancy.
Democrats are alleging that the action is a partisan political game.
