KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — After a split with No. 1 Michigan, the Western Michigan hockey team has jumped up to 11 in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll released on Monday.
WMU was sitting just outside the top 15 last week before the split with the Wolverines.
The 27th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey
The Broncos also moved up to No. 13 in the US College Hockey Online Poll, jumping up from 17 last week.
The USCHO.com Poll consists of 50 voters, including coaches and beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. The poll is a production of USCHO.com, which provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.
Western Michigan heads out on the road to take on Colgate, who received votes in both polls, on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m. Both games can be seen live on ESPN+ and heard live on the Bronco Radio Network.
