BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UDPATE – One of two suspects involved in a Battle Creek bank robbery last August has been charged, according to an update from WOOD TV.
Previously, police were investigating the robbery, which took place on August 24 at the PNC Bank on Capital Avenue SW.
During that incident, a man entered the bank and asked to open a new account, but then drew a gun and demanded money.
According to police, he made off with $7,560 in cash, and initial attempts to locate him were not successful.
With the help of surveillance video in the area of the bank, police determined the man fled the scene in a U-Haul rental truck and headed west on I-94.
Through the truck rental information, police identified the suspect and determined he was at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, where he was arrested.
That suspect, identified as 41-year-old Jeremy Sanders, told police that 47-year-old Antonio Loyde was also involved, and police arrested him at a later time.
According to the update on Monday, Sanders has been charged with one count of armed bank robbery, but an update on Loyde was not immediately available.
