Authorities gave an update Wednesday regarding a Saturday evening crash on 9 Mile Rd. near Marsh Rd. in Orangeville Township. 28-year-old Riley James Campbell of Portage was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and left the roadway. He was ejected off the bike and struck a tree.
Campbell was unresponsive when emergency crews arrived and had to be airlifted to a hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries on Wednesday. Investigators say he was not wearing a helmet and they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
