KDPS seizes weapon, other evidence, during traffic stop; suspect still at large

KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Citizen complaints about gun violence in the Edison neighborhood resulted in Kalamazoo Dept. of Public Safety officers confiscating a weapon and magazine.

Authorities report that officers in the area of W Stockbridge Ave made a traffic stop at around 8:15 pm Wednesday, and during the stop, an unidentified 19 year old Kalamazoo man fled the scene.

Officers located his vehicle a short time later, and found a handgun, extended magazine, and other evidence in the car.

The suspect remains at large, but KDPS officials say that they know who he is, and charges will be filed in connection with the case.
