KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public School has decided to extend its universal mask mandate into the second trimester, which means masks will be worn until March 11 of next year.
KPS says with anticipated large gatherings for the holidays, flu season approaching, and a lack of vaccines available for younger students, mask mandates are the best strategy to avoid remote learning.
The district will reassess the mask mandate sometime before March 14, 2022. For more information on the district’s safety plan, you check the KPS website.
Meanwhile, school officials encourage all students and staff eligible for the vaccine to get their shots.
