BARRY COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Barry County Sheriff’s Office is releasing an update on a missing person case from last July.
Previously, police had reported that 41-year-old Rachel Lynn Hazen was last seen Wednesday, July 21. She was reportedly driving a silver 2005 Ford Escape with no license plate.
On Tuesday, with the help of a Michigan State Police helicopter, the 2005 Ford Escape was located in a Maple Grove Township soybean field.
Three K-9 units also found human remains in proximity of the vehicle.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation, and police say the deceased has not been identified as of yet.
Officials say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
