PARCHMENT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Last week, WKZO reported on an upcoming presentation at the Parchment Community Library by “Michigan’s Haunted Lighthouses” author Dianna Stampfler.
The presentation will take place Thursday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m., and will contain stories about Michigan’s haunted lighthouses.
Stampfler, who works for Promote Michigan, spoke with us Tuesday ahead of that presentation.
Among other topics discussed, Stampfler touched on a local lighthouse in South Haven, which is alleged to be haunted by a Civil War veteran.
“Captain James S. Donahue was one of the early keepers, he was a Civil War solider who had one leg,” Stampfler said. “His ghost is still said to be in that keepers residence, but he worked there for 35 years.”
