MORTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One person was killed in a plane crash in West Michigan Monday evening. It happened just after 6:00 p.m. in Mecosta County’s Morton Township, southeast of Big Rapids.
The 58-year-old pilot from Newaygo County was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The cause of the crash for the single-seat aircraft has not been determined. Mecosta County investigators are trying to determine if the cause was related to a mechanical issue with the plane or possibly a medical condition with the pilot.
