BARRY COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Barry County police are investigating an accident where a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries on Saturday.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on 9 Mile Road near Marsh Road in Orangeville Township near the village of Martin.
Authorities say a 28-year-old man from Portage, was driving eastbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and went off the roadway.
He was then ejected and hit a tree and was unresponsive when first responders arrived. He was air lifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say the driver was not wearing a helmet and that alcohol did appear to be a factor in the accident.
