KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo County jury has found a Kalamazoo man not guilty in the fatal shooting of a former Loy Norrix basketball teammate.
GK Wells-Lindsay was accused of shooting Alex Johnson in November of 2019.
Wells-Lindsay was also found not guilty of a felony firearms charge, but was found guilty of carrying a concealed weapon.
The two men had been arguing via text messages, and Wells-Lindsay said that Johnson had threatened him.
Wells-Lindsay stated that he went to Johnson’s apartment armed with a gun, and that Johnson was armed as well.
Wells-Lindsay claimed the shooting was in self-defense.
