BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash in Springfield that left a motorcyclist in critical condition on Wednesday, October 13.
Authorities say it happened around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Dickman Road and 20th Street.
Investigation showed that the motorcyclist, a 37-year-old Battle Creek man, was trying to turn southbound on 20th street when he was struck by a sedan after not yielding to oncoming traffic.
He was taken to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The driver of the sedan, an 18-year-old Battle Creek woman, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to police, both speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
