OTSEGO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After two years of planning, fundraising, and construction, Otsego Main Street and the City of Otsego have finished work on the new Riverfront Pavilion.
In celebration of this achievement, a ribbon cutting ceremony has been scheduled for Saturday, October 16 at 11 a.m. at the pavilion, located near Court and Farmer Streets along the Kalamazoo River, near the Otsego Main Street office at 218 N. Farmer Street.
Donors, community leaders and the public are invited to join, and light refreshments will be served.
The 6000 sq. ft open-air pavilion will be the new home of Otsego Main Street’s downtown ice rink and open to community use beginning in the spring of 2022.
It will serve as a space for family, friends, and community to come together for years to come, which is made possible by donors and volunteers.
“The pavilion is the first major project of our Riverfront Development Master Plan which aims to bring new high-quality recreation opportunities to downtown Otsego,” officials said in a statement. “Phase II of the plan is currently in the planning stage and we can’t wait to share what is coming next with the community in the coming months.”
