KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Just after celebrating its 10-year anniversary this week, the hunger relief charity God’s Kitchen of Michigan is now seeking donations for its annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
The organization has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $8,500 for both events. The funds will be used to purchase food and supplies.
This year’s events will be held at the Portage Chapel Hill Church meal site. Both holiday dinners are free, open to the public, and scheduled on Wednesdays from 5 to 6:30 pm.
The Thanksgiving meal is on November 24, while the Christmas meal is on December 22.
Due to concerns about COVID-19, both dinners will be served in a carryout format.
Home delivery is available for the elderly, sick, and shut-ins by reserving a dinner on the God’s Kitchen of Michigan website at www.godskitchenofmichigan.org from November 1 through 10.
No orders will be accepted via telephone on the day of the Thanksgiving dinner, and no dinners will be delivered for the Christmas program.
Residents interested in volunteering at one or both holiday dinners can contact God’s Kitchen of Michigan at 269-615-8080 by November 15.
To make a donation, residents can send a check or money order by November 10 to God’s Kitchen of Michigan, P.O. Box 2632, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49003, or via GoFundMe at this link.
