DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Motorists in Michigan are feeling even more of a pinch at the gas pump. Average gas prices in that state jumped a whopping 12 cents last week, a new high for 2021 and the highest prices in several years.
Drivers are now paying an average of $3.33 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 14 cents more than a month ago and $1.20 more than this time last year.
Rising crude oil prices continue to be the cause, according to AAA, and if crude prices continue to trade near $80 a barrel, motorists will not see much relief. The slight increase in gas demand has also contributed to the rise in the national average.
