DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers are sending seven prospects to the Arizona Fall League.
Outfielder Riley Greene and infielders Ryan Kreidler and Spencer Torkelson are among players who will join the Salt River Rafters. The six-team league is made up of prospects from all 30 Major League Baseball clubs and begins play October 13.
Major League Baseball is closing in on a monumental decision for its minor leaguers. Yahoo Sports reports the MLB is finalizing a policy to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for its minor-league players.
While the players association can block requiring vaccination, the minor leagues are not included in the big league union. It would be expected that players be vaccinated before reporting for spring training.
The majority of MLB teams reached the 85 percent vaccination threshold for this season.
