MATTAWAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Mattawan are asking residents to be on guard related to several vehicle break-ins this week.
The police department made an announcement on their Facebook page that break-ins had occurred between the hours of 11:00 p.m. Tuesday and 3:00 a.m. Wednesday in various areas around the city. The break-ins mostly involved unlocked vehicles. Mattawan’s Police Chief advised people to remove valuables and lock their doors.
Residents in Parchment, Paw Paw, and Lawton have also reported a recent spike in vehicle thefts, also typically in ones that are left unlocked at night. Anyone who may have tips or surveillance of any vehicle break-ins should contact their local police department.
