PORTAGE MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan State Police troopers executed a search warrant at a Pavilion Township residence Wednesday morning…and discovered evidence of alleged animal cruelty.
Authorities found and arrested 32-year-old Rodney Moore at his house on East Q Ave on an outstanding felony warrant for domestic violence 3rd offense, and a child support warrant.
Upon investigation, troopers discovered two deceased dogs and five others at the house.
Animal control was called in, took custody of the animals, and is expected to seek animal cruelty charges against Moore.
The suspect also became violent while being taken to the County Jail, kicking the vehicle’s windshield and breaking off a side mirror.
He also attempted to kick an officer in the head at the jail.
Additional charges of Malicious Destruction of Police Property and Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer are also being sought.
