KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man accused in the fatal shooting of a young adult in Kalamazoo over the weekend has been arraigned in court. 24-year-old Maleik Hargrave is charged with open murder and felony firearms.
The shooting happened early Saturday morning in the 100 block of E. Maple Dr. where officers discovered an 18-year-old man from Portage suffering from gunshot wounds. That victim later died at the hospital and his name has not been released.
Investigations led authorities to an area of Van Buren County where Hargrave was taken into custody later that afternoon. Police have not indicated what the motive for the shooting was at this time.
