GALESBURG, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that an armed suspect was shot and killed outside a gas station in Galesburg early this morning.
A heavy police presence was observed outside the Shell station off I-94 in Galesburg at around 3:00 a.m.. Authorities were reportedly called there on reports of an unknown emergency. Information about what led up to the shooting has not been reported at this time, but the Sheriff’s office confirmed that the deputy involved was not injured and has been placed on a standard administrative leave while an investigation will take place.
At least fifteen police vehicles responded and had entrances and exits of the business blocked off. Crime scene tape was seen between the front entrance and one of the gas pumps.
