CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says that intoxicants were a likely factor in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday. It happened around 8:10 p.m. at the intersection of M-62 and Indian Lake Road in Silver Creek Township.
Authorities say that 53-year-old Berrien Center resident, Jack Baker, was traveling north bound on Indian Lake Road into the intersection of M-62 when he struck a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Arturo Morales-Fiscal, who was turning onto M-62.
Morales-Fiscal was transported to the South Bend Memorial Hospital for his injuries. Baker along with passenger, 57-year-old Berrien Center resident, Anthony Curtis, were treated and released at the scene by EMS.
Seat belts were worn and intoxicants were a factor in this crash. This case remains under investigation.
Assisting agencies were the Indian Lake Fire Department, Pokagon Band Tribal Police Department, and Pride Care Ambulance service.
