KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Hundreds of women’s marches took place across the country Saturday to protest the Texas abortion ban.
Around 2,500 gathered in Kalamazoo’s Bronson Park to fight for reproductive rights. The event included speeches, resource tables, and music.
Participants also took to the streets in downtown Kalamazoo, stopping traffic to protest the Texas ban which was signed back in May and took effect on September 1st.
The Texas heartbeat law is the strictest in the U.S. The law bans most abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy with no exceptions for rape or incest.
