SCHOOLCRAFT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Monday, the South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority announced that a Schoolcraft motel will be burned for the purposes of training.
According to officials, the motel in question is the Plainsman Motel, located at 12500 US-131 in Schoolcraft.
The training exercise will begin around 9:00 a.m. this Saturday, September 25.
Officials say the burn is expected to last most of the day, and smoke could blow across the highway at times. In addition, emergency vehicles will be entering and exiting the highway in this area.
As such, officials say residents should use caution if driving in that area on Saturday.
