DOWAGIAC, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County authorities are trying to locate a driver who was involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist critically injured Monday afternoon. It happened just after 2:30 near Spruce St. and State Rd. in Dowagiac.
Police say a motorcyclist and an SUV tried to change lanes at approximately the same time. The motorcycle ended up swerving to the side of the road, striking a street sign. The driver of the SUV continued driving, leaving the scene. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later flown to another hospital for further treatment.
The SUV is described as an early 2000s tan or gold-colored Chevrolet Suburban and the driver was described as a white female with brown hair.
